Tourette Syndrome (TS) is an inherited neurological condition which begins in childhood and affects approximately one schoolchild in every hundred.
The key feature is tics, involuntary and uncontrollable sounds and movements, although the majority of people with TS do not swear uncontrollably (coprolalia).
In most cases TS is also linked to other behaviours, like Obsessional Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Attention Deficit/hyperactivity Disorder but it can also occur in people with ASD.
